The company was founded by Chas Olley of St.Marys in 1844 and originally operated in Whitechapel from a multistory building in Camperdown Street, London just around the corner from the Pool of London.

In 1973, the company moved to distinctively designed premises in Mildenhall, Suffolk, to accommodate the growth C.Olley had experienced. Further premises followed as the company growth continued.

The company has continued to be a family business, with Mr Peter Olley, the great grandson of the founder, now the Chief Executive.

C.Olley & Sons' success has been in it's ability to fully understand customer needs in the specialist world of Cork, utilising it's in depth knowledge of all processes, raw material availability, and individual industries requirements.

C.Olley & Sons are proud of it's reputation within the Cork industry, and aim to continue to manufacture all possible cork derived products, giving it's customers unequaled quality and service; a mission that has proved successful for over 160 years.

Commercial quality cork is harvested after 25 years and the trees are productive for a further 125 years.
This creates old forests which support the survival of the planet.
